About Louise

Louise Zass-Bangham

Louise became a garden designer because of concerns over the rapid destruction of our environment. Louise wants to make a real, practical difference for her clients. Trained at Capel Manor College, London's biggest horticultural college, Louise has a mixture of planting and design skills. Louise also enjoys writing and speaking about sustainable design.

Changing career after 10 years in fashion design and marketing, Louise brings her eye for colour, texture and form to garden design. Louise believes that you don't need to sacrifice style to create a sustainable garden; it just needs a more creative approach.

Louise is a member of AECB (the Association for Environment Conscious Building), the sustainable building association. Louise is also a member of Sponge, a network for young professionals sharing an interest in sustainable development and the built environment.

In her spare time Louise is a volunteer garden guide for the National Trust at Ham House. Since 1975 there has been a major project underway to restore the gardens to their stunning 17th century design.

Louise and her husband live in Twickenham, where they can be spotted riding a tandem to their organic allotment. You've got to cycle the cycle as well as talk the talk!
